After a year of hard work and dedication from many wonderful people, our Youth Space opened on Tuesday 21st May (during Youth Week 20-26 May).
Open on Tuesday and Thursdays 4pm-7pm (during term time)
The space has a huge shared work desk, free high speed wi-fi, sofa, smart TV, gaming console, art supplies, board games, a book swap, and great vibes! Collaborating with local youth, we have designed a space for you to come and study, meet up and discuss projects, create, and hang out. A dedicated space for you in our community.
A Youth Worker will be on site for the session to sign people in and offer any assistance, however to give our youth their space and independence they will be based out of our office.
The first hour and a half will be a time to catch up on schoolwork, study and then for the second half of the session will be a dedicated time to relax. We've also got a new basketball hoop in the courtyard, and we'll be hosting events throughout the year.
We plan to have future free events happening for youth, more details to come- so keep an eye on our Instagram for more details.
If you are aged 13- 21 years and have ideas for events, workshops, classes or anything you would like to see happening at the House you can email [email protected]
We would love to thank the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board, Shore Junction and the Neidlinger Whānau for their support in helping get the space updated for use!
