Spend the afternoon with us to celebrate Matariki with our hāpori tamariki. Featuring lantern crafting, facepainting, pūrākau (stories) and whētu (star) cookies + crafts.

Learn to Write Good Weekend Writing Workshop with Dominic Hoey

What - 
Join acclaimed Auckland-based poet, author, and playwright Dominic Hoey for a two-day creative writing workshop focused on short stories and novel writing.
Across the weekend, you’ll explore key storytelling techniques in a supportive and inspiring environment.
  • Day One covers the fundamentals of writing fiction, with a focus on character development, dialogue, and story structure, including practical exercises and group discussions.
  • Day Two dives into setting, point of view, and editing, with the opportunity to receive personalised feedback and workshop your writing in small groups.
The course will wrap up with a reflection session to help you plan your next steps as a writer, whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your craft.

Tuesdays  10am and 1pm
Be picked up from your home and taken to Devonport New World and home again. Our volunteer drivers can help you with your bags also.

Library Run
Thursdays  1.30pm- 3.00pm
Be picked up from your home and taken to the Devonport Library for an information session, library services and tea/coffee. Our volunteer driver will take you home again afterwards.

What - Digital Help is for anyone who is needing help with their technical device. For your iPad, tablet, laptop or phone, our technical professionals are here to answer your questions. Every Friday we will be holding these sessions (during term time) and you will be able to bring your device and questions for some one on one help.
