Time- 12-5pm Where - Devonport Community House-Kauri Hall What - Matariki Lantern Making Session More info- Twinkling in the winter sky just before dawn, Matariki (the Pleiades) signals the Māori New Year. For Māori, the appearance of Matariki heralds a time of remembrance, joy and peace. It is a time for communities to come together and celebrate. The Devonport Community House is proud to be hosting many events to help celebrate Matariki this year. We are also excited to partner with other local organisations and people to make this year's celebrations exceptionally special. Make sure you visit our website, the Devonport Peninsula Trust, Depot Artspace, the Navy Museum, and Devonport Library to find out about all the festivities happening on the peninsula. Cost - We will provide one lantern per for family for free.
